Phillips County is located on the beautiful high plains of Northeastern Colorado, was formed in 1889 and named for R.O. Phillips, secretary of the Lincoln Land Company - subsidiary of Burlington Railroads. The county's primary industry is agriculture as 40% of income is derived from the commodity sales of cattle, hogs, corn, wheat, and other crops. It is one of the most productive farming and ranching regions in our country.
